Very impressed with the work they did. Our main sewer line broke and settled right outside the foundation. This was a major problem as the line was under an outdoor kitchen, bathroom and concrete pad. 3 contractors said only way to fix it was to tear everything out and put a big trench through the concrete. These "Guys" were able to burst the old pipe and pull a new pipe through to get everything fixed in a day. Incredible. The other contractors were amazed that this was even an option. Could barely tell anything was done at the end.

Expert Orangeburg Pipe in Wooster, OH
Orangeburg pipe is a wood pulp and tar-based sewer material installed in homes built between the 1940s and early 1970s. Many Wooster properties from that post-war building era still have this pipe buried under yards and driveways. The material absorbs moisture over time, softens under soil pressure, and flattens or collapses inward, blocking wastewater flow. Once structural integrity is gone, drain cleaning alone will not fix the problem. At The Trenchless Guys, we start with a camera inspection to confirm whether Orangeburg is present and how far the deterioration has progressed. From there, we recommend the right path: trenchless pipe lining when the pipe still holds its shape, or pipe bursting and targeted replacement when sections have collapsed beyond repair. Both approaches limit digging and protect your landscaping. If your Wooster home was built before 1972 and you are seeing slow drains, recurring backups, or soft spots in your yard, call us to schedule a sewer inspection.

Recurring drain backups, slow flow across multiple fixtures, sewage odors, and soft or sunken areas in your yard are common signs of a failing Orangeburg sewer line. Any one of these in a Wooster home built before 1972 is worth a sewer inspection.
Yes, deteriorating Orangeburg pipe in a Wooster home can lead to sewage backup inside the house, wastewater leaking into the surrounding soil, and ground settlement under walkways or slabs. Catching the problem before full collapse gives you more repair options.
Not always. When the pipe condition allows, we use trenchless methods that require only small access points rather than an open trench across your Wooster yard. Severely collapsed sections may need targeted excavation, which we identify through camera inspection first.
